Founded in October 1996, The Internet Society of Egypt (ISE) is a non-profit organization of professionals and institutions dedicated to promoting, managing, and facilitating the use of Internet in Egypt.

Due to the rapid growth of Internet services in Egypt, an increasing need for a forefront, supportive body emerged. The Society is to serve the Egyptian community and provide leadership in addressing key issues about the roles and uses of Internet.

ISE is established pursuant to law No. 32 of 1964. It is managed by the Board of Directors which includes 15 members elected by the General Assembly of the Society. The Board of Directors, as the governing body of the Society, should meet at least once a month.
