Members of the Internet society of Egypt, in their discharge of their responsibilities, shall abide by the following:

1. To accept responsibility in using and maintaining Internet service in conformity with the requirements of the safety, security, health, and welfare of the public, and to disclose promptly factors that might endanger the public or the environment or that might affect or conflict with the Egyptian traditional values, ethics, religion, or national welfare.

2. To promote and advance the general awareness of internet services, to reach a responsible and mature society in this respect.

3. To improve the understanding of Internet technology, its appropriate application, and potential consequences.

4. To abide strictly by the requirements of honesty and good faith in making claims based on estimates thereof, and to have such claims based on available reliable data.

5. To refrain from all abusive use of the internet resources and/or services.

6. To promote for the awareness of the importance of establishing and conforming with the requirements of an effective nation wide Internet backbone.

7. To abide by the principles of ‘fair competition’

8. To avoid all forms of ‘conflict of interest’ in all practices related to the provision or use of internet services or resources.

9. To avoid harming others, their property, reputation or employment by false or malicious action.

10. To respect and promote the protection of intellectual property rights as defined by national legislation, international agreements and general principle of law.
