Internet Community Access

Objective:
To provide internet access to the masses that cannot afford to own a PC and pay for the communication cost
Method:
To set up sites in community areas such as clubs, public libraries, university campuses,...etc. Each site should consist of a pc and a communication line. The site would be in the form of a booth and can be managed by a site operator. The booth would carry the society logo.
Funding:
• Donations of hardware, software
• Nominal Fees (e.g. LE1 per hour)
• Setup a fund raising drive on the society webpage

Statistics on Internet Usage in Egypt

Expand the internet access for the students in the universities

Integrate the efforts to develop/produce the Arabic browser and the arabic web editor

ISE should have a role in promoting electronic commerce in Egypt because of many related issues such as: interfaces on the international level such as the EDI, security and encryption, banks and money, Egypt's bandwidth and infrastructure, legal issues such as copyright, arabization/publishing/authoring tools ...etc.

Encourage the Egyptian society to communicate together as it is obvious from the traffic that Egyptians communicate mainly with people from abroad.

Encourage youth in public clubs, youth camps,...etc. This confirms the point of the importance of the infrastrcuture that Dr. Ossman Lotfi refered to.
